Barge trip to Chateau Chenonceau

 

Trip to Chinon Nous commencerons par une visite du chantier de la forteresse de Chinon, ensuite une dégustation du vin de Chinon dans les caves Plouzeau.  Nous déjeunerons dans un restaurant dans la vieille ville avant de faire la visite guidée de cette même vieille ville, dont les photos ci-jointes vous donneront un aperçu.

We will start the day with a visit of the work-in-progress of the site to re-construct the ancient fortress of Chinon castle, followed by a visit and wine-tasting at the Plouzeau wine cellars.  Lunch will be at a restaurant 'At'able' in Chinon itself and the day will end with a guided visit of the old town.  The photos posted on the site will give you an idea of what to expect and what you will see.

 

Congrès National des Associations F-GB Christiane Balandras-Charreyron nous fait le plaisir de donner un concert de piano dans le cadre du Congrès National des Associations France-Grande Bretagne.

Christiane Charreyron-Balandras gave a special piano concert at the Château d'Artigny as part of the National Congress of the F-GB Associations.

Journée de l'Europe F-GB à l'Hôtel de Ville Voici quelques photos souvenirs. Le thé, le Pimms, les sandwiches au concombre, de même que les sandwiches au 'Marmite' de notre ami, Ian Johnson, ont eu beaucoup de succès. Herewith a few photos. Ian's cucumber sandwiches were a great success; the Marmite sandwiches also! As to the cakes many of you contributed, they were a tribute to your home-made (English recipes!) cooking.

 

 

 

Hôtel de Ville -Tours F-GB en Touraine s'est retrouvé le 29 septembre à l'hotel de ville de Tours et à la cathédrale avant de se réunir à l'Hôtel de l'Univers pour une soirée-dîner de retrouvailles.
F-GB (Touraine) gathered for guided tours of the town's hotel de ville and St. Gatien cathedral before meeting for dinner at the Hotel de l'Univers, their first meeting since the summer break.

 

 

 

La Chatonnière, The Ensemble Jacques Moderne, August 2008 August 2008 a party from France-Grande Bretagne en Touraine attended a performance by the Ensemble Jacques Moderne of airs and dances by Henry Purcell.  The concert was held in the grounds of the Château de la Chatonnière, belonging to our friend, Béatrice de Andia, who is also a member of the association. 
Le 9 août 2008 des membres de France-Grande Bretagne en Touraine assistaient à un concert d'airs et danses du baroque anglais de Henry Purcell dans les jardins du Château de la Chatonnière donné par l'Ensemble Jacques Moderne. La propriétaire, Béatrice de Andia, nous y a accueillis avec son charme habituel.
